I was in a auto accident in Dec 08, other parties fault, totaled my truck and hurt my neck, I underwent PT and 2 injections in my neck and was feeling pretty good, on my way to the doctor in March 09 to hopefully get cleared I was hit by a drunk driver. He ran, but a very nice gentlemen happened to get his plate number so he was picked up later that evening. I went to the hospital with neck and shoulder pain again, and wound up with another injection and about 6 more months of PT, and various other procedures. my question is my lawyer (I hired him after the first wreck) seems to be dragging his feet. He insists we should wait to settle the first wreck until we get an offer from the 2nd, and do them together, which I totally understand but they aren’t the ones with these bills showing on their credit and dealing with the phone calls and mail. I am still in pain but just want to get this over with so I stopped treatment and going to the doc’s over 6 months ago. Should I or Can I go to another lawyer about this? Will I be on the hook with my current? I am trying to get into a home, and this is affecting my credit. Thanks in advance for the insight!

Without knowing your the agreement you have with the current lawyer it is really hard to tell. Most lawyers that take cases like your on contingency have a clause in the agreement where you will owe them some amount plus expenses incurred (which can be very large) if you fire them before the case is finished.
