Angie, call the County Courthouse and ask to speak to a Clerk of the Family Law division. When that person gets on the phone, simply ask “Ma’m/Sir, if you were getting a divorce, which divorce lawyer would you hire?”
Working in family court gives someone the opportunity to know which attorneys have “killer” reputations and which ones are best avoided. The clerk there should definitely be able to name the family law attorney who takes first prize in the “killer” category. That’s the one you want!
