I love shows like Snapped and Forensic Files. Are there any books to read about law and criminal cases?

Are there any you would recommend off the bat?

Lucky for you, there’s a whole genre of books like that!
    Try ‘true-crime’

The Women’s Murder Club series by James Patterson. All the books are focused on cases and Lindsay Boxer, a detective, tries to piece the puzzles together with the help of a coroner, a DA, and a journalist. I love the courtroom scenes the most, where they try to persuade the jury with evidence and reasoning; the speeches are extremely well-written. And there are usually multiple cases going on at the same time which makes for an interesting read and keeps you guessing on who the perpetrator(s) are. The first book is hard to get into, but the cases get better as the series progresses. You can read them in any order.
