Wouldn’t 45,000 deaths from auto accidents a year in the US mean that cars are too dangerous for humans?

Cars don’t cause deaths, its people not paying attention to the road that causes the deaths. Since we are so technologically dependent upon electronic gadgets, people are using them while driving and cause more accidents than in the past.

No…..its the lack of understanding just what a car can do along with the lack of understanding the rules of the road…….

i agree with the first two guys, plus driving under the influence, and people fleeing from law enforcement. never ends well………

so if cars are too dangerous for people, why not ban them? that’s exactly what they’re trying to do with firearms!!!!!

Scientist have discovered something that is 100% fatal — Live Birth. Does this mean that birth is too dangerous for humans?

In the U.S. in 2005 threre were over 850.000 deaths from major cardiovascular diseases and over 550,000 deaths from malignant neoplasms. You are more than 30 times more likely to die from these two major killers than from an automobile accident. Not to mention that driving a car is useful and many find it enjoyable. Really not a lot going for heart disease or cancer.

Falls accounted for 19,656 deaths in 2005 — on a per mile basis walking is a LOT more deadlier than driving.

Suicides and homicides, people killing others or themselves, exceed the number of vehicular deaths. Obviously humans are too dangerous to be around, particularly yourself as suicides outnumber homicides almost 2:1!

At the bottom of the list are 5,113 work related deaths. While only a ninth of the vehicular deaths it sure puts the lie to “hard work never killed anyone!” Indeed, you could say, given your previous statement, that *work* is too dangerous for humans.

Not to mention that work is against my religion — I’m a devout loafer.

Only a very small percentage of those accidents can be attributed to the actual machinery. It’s the stupid people driving them that are the problem. One wouldn’t normally categorize bicycles as dangerous but look how many people die riding them every year.

Gee, kinda makes gun related deaths seem almost irrelevant. Give everyone a gun and ban cars.
