SOPOLY CARE & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

At SoPoly, we suggest performing regular seasonal maintenance on your outdoor furniture and accessories to enhance the appearance and longevity of your investment. We have outlined a few steps below that will help you achieve optimal results.

STEP-BY-STEP

PREPARE THE CLEANING SOLUTION

Mix a small amount of mild soap or detergent with warm water in a bucket. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the surface of the poly lumber.

REMOVE CUSHIONS AND ACCESSORIES

Take off any cushions, pillows, or other accessories from the furniture before cleaning. This will make it easier to clean the furniture thoroughly.

RINSE THE FURNITURE

Use a garden hose with a spray nozzle to rinse off any loose dirt, debris, or pollen from the furniture. This will help prevent scratching the surface during the cleaning process.

SCRUB THE SURFACE

Dip a soft bristle brush into the cleaning solution and gently scrub the furniture in a circular motion. Pay special attention to any areas with stubborn stains or dirt buildup. For hard-to-reach areas, you can use a smaller brush or a cloth.

RINSE

Thoroughly rinse the furniture with the garden hose to remove all soap residue. Make sure to rinse all surfaces, including the underside and any crevices.

DRY YOUR FURNITURE

Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the furniture and remove excess water. Allow the furniture to air dry completely before replacing cushions and accessories.

CLEAN AND REPLACE CUSHIONS

While the furniture is drying, clean the cushions and accessories according to their care instructions. Once everything is dry, replace the cushions and accessories on the furniture.

MAINTENANCE TIPS

  • Clean your poly lumber furniture at least twice a year, or more frequently if it is exposed to heavy use or harsh weather conditions.
  • Avoid using pressure washers on high settings, as they can damage the surface of the poly lumber. If you choose to use a pressure washer, use a low-pressure setting and keep the nozzle at least 12 inches away from the surface.
  • Store cushions and accessories in a dry, covered area when not in use to prolong their lifespan.
  • Inspect your furniture regularly for any signs of damage or wear, and address any issues promptly to prevent further deterioration.
